Kukkiwon President Candidate Dr. Oh no-kyun Says, "I Will Make Kukkiwon United as One with Communication, Harmony, and Innovation”

Press Briefing on Development of Kukkiwon and Taekwondo at Press Center on October 4.

Candidate No.3 Dr. Oh no-kyun is running for president of the World Taekwondo Headquarters, Kukkiwon. On October 4, 2:30 PM, Candidate Oh held “Press Briefing on Development of Kukkiwon and Taekwondo’ at 19th floor, Gukhwa Room, Press Center.

In the briefing, Candidate Oh said “I will make Kukkiwon become united as one with communication, harmony, and innovation. I will also expand Kukkiwon toward the world by ending past misdeeds and past abuses”.

Candidate Oh mentioned about promoting Taekwondo as a life martial arts by spreading “Life Cycle Taekwondo Program” to help people enjoy Taekwondo together. Based on his belief on “Supporting Taekwondo School for Promoting Taekwondo”, he also supported consulting for vitalizing Taekwondo school. In addition, Candidate Oh suggested on activating Department of Taekwondo in universities for enhancing status of Taekwondo as honorable and proud Taekwondo. Furthermore, Candidate Oh talked about supplementing “Rank and Dan Test System” and “Respect for Taekwondo contributors” for preserving honor.

In the briefing, Candidate Oh suggested on keeping a close cooperation system with World Taekwondo, Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, Korea Taekwondo Association, and Korea Paralympic Committee. He also talked about his plans for founding Kukkiwon Administrative Support Center in 5 continents and “spreading the exclusive rights on rank and dan test for association in each country gradually”.

Candidate Oh also added that he plans to “Strengthen the internal competence as a promising Kukkiwon with visions’ to organize a pleasant workplace culture. He also suggested on communicating with the government, national assembly, and ‘strengthening cooperation with UN and UNESCO for suggesting visions”.

In the briefing, founding secretary general of Taekwondo Promotion Foundation (former agent of Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Donggeun Song, attended. Former secretary general Song said “Candidate Oh has been contributing to Taekwondo for a long time and he will bring numerous changes as the president”. He also said “Candidate Song is the right person for global Kukkiwon by identifying the flow of the world”.

Candidate Nogyun Oh suggested following items for development of Kukkiwon and Taekwondo.

First, provide “Life Cycle Taekwondo Program” for 80% of youth training group to make Taekwondo as a life martial art “enjoyed together by all people”.

Second, Candidate Oh suggested “Sustainable Taekwondo” and “Supporting Taekwondo School for Promoting Taekwondo”. In the briefing he talked about this plans for “Activating Taekwondo school management (Support on establishing regulations of Taekwondo), Supporting Taekwondo school consulting, and strengthening education in world taekwondo training centers”.

Third, Candidate Oh claimed for “Enhancing status of Taekwondo as honorable and proud Taekwondo”. He also claimed for “Supporting Department of Taekwondo in universities, improving rank/dan system, preserving honor of 9 dan, and defining honor and status of Kukkiwon, and respecting Taekwondo contributors”.

Fourth, Candidate Oh suggested “Kukkiwon with World”. To expand Kukkiwon toward the world, Oh suggested on “strengthening a close relationship system with World Taekwondo, Taekwondo Promotion Foundation, Korea Taekwondo Association, and Korea Paralympic Committee, open participation from Taekwondo associations (Kukkiwon general meeting, forum) around the world, supporting Taekwondo in developing countries continuously, administrative support on overseas Kukkiwon, administrative support center for continental federation, unifying overseas dan (rank) system, installing Kukkiwon in each continent, and operating overseas affairs team”.

Fifth, Candidate Oh suggested “Reliable Kukkiwon with Visions”. He claimed for “strengthening internal competence (organizational restructuring, pleasant workplace culture), phased affairs, strengthening cooperation with regular supreme council, government, national assembly, press, and related institutes, and cooperating with international organizations such as UN and UNESCO”.

Sixth, Candidate Oh showed his strong ambitions for “making Kukkiwon united as one with communication, harmony and innovation” and “growing Kukkiwon again by ending past misdeeds and past abuses”.

오노균 국기원 원장 후보, "소통ㆍ화합ㆍ혁신으로 하나 되는 국기원을 만들겠다"

세계태권도본부 국기원장으로 입후보한 기호 3번 오노균 후보는 “국기원 및 태권도 발전을 위한 언론 브리핑”을 프레스센터 19층 국화실에서 4일 오후2시30분경 가졌다.

오 후보는 “소통ㆍ화합ㆍ혁신으로 하나 되는 국기원을 바로 세워 구악과 구폐를 청산하고 다시 뛰는 세계 속의 국기원으로 만들겠다.”고 말했다.

이어 브리핑에서는 국민이 함께 즐기는 태권도를 위해 "생애주기별 태권도 프로그램"을 보급해서 생활무도 태권도의 진흥을 꾀하고, “도장이 살아야 태권도가 산다.”는 신념으로 도장활성화를 위한 컨설팅 등을 지원하고, 명예롭고 자랑스러운 태권도로 위상 제고를 하는데 대학 태권도학과의 활성화를 제시했다. 더불어 “승품 단 심사제도”보완과 명예보전으로 “태권도 공헌자를 예우해야 한다”고 밝혔다.

또한 세계와 함께하는 국기원으로 세계태권도연맹ㆍ진흥재단ㆍ대한태권도협회ㆍ장애인태권도협회와 긴밀한 협조체계를 유지하고, 5개 대륙에 국기원 행정지원센터 설립과 “각국 협회에 승품 단 심사관련 독점권을 점차적으로 넓혀 나가겠다”고 말했다.

이에 더하여 “비전이 있는 국기원으로 내부역량을 강화”하여 신나는 직장문화를 조성하고 정부ㆍ국회 등과 소통하고 “UN.유네스코와도 협력을 강화하여 비전을 제시하겠다”고 말했다.

이날 송동근 태권도진흥재단 창립 초대사무총장(전 문체부국장)이 배석했다. 송 전 총장은 "오노균 후보가 오랜 세월 태권도에 헌신 봉사해 왔고 원장이 되면 많은 변화가 기대된다."면서 "세계의 흐름을 잘 파악하여 세계중심의 국기원을 만들 적임자"라고 말했다.

오노균 후보가 제시한 국기원 및 태권도발전 내용은,

첫째, “국민이 함께 즐기는 태권도”로 어린이 80%의 수련계층에서 국기 태권도에 걸맞는 국민이 즐기는 평생 태권도로 “생애 주기별 태권도 프로그램” 제공해 생활무도로 만들겠다.

둘째, “미래 지속가능한 태권도”로 “도장이 살아야 태권도가 산다.”는 것으로 “도장 경영 활성화 추진(국기태권도법, 조례제정지원 등), 도장 컨설팅지원, 세계태권도 연수원 교육 기능을 강화”하겠다.

셋째, “명예롭고 자랑스러운 태권도위상제고”로 “대학 태권도학과 활성화 지원, 승품/단 제도 개선 및 9단 명예 보전, 국기원의 명예와 위상정립, 태권도 공헌자 예우”하겠다.

넷째, “세계와 함께하는 국기원”이다. 이를 위해 “세계태권도연맹, 태권도진흥재단, 대한태권도협회, 대한장애인태권도협회와 긴밀한 협조체계를 강화”하고 “국기원 운영에 각국 태권도협회의 열린 참여(국기원 총회, 포럼 등), 개도국 태권도 지속적 지원, 해외 국기원 행정지원, 대륙연맹 국기원 행정지원센터, 국가협회 해외 단(품)증 체계 일원화, 대륙별 설치, 해외 전담팀 운영”등을 펼치겠다.

다섯째, “비전과 신뢰 받는 국기원”으로 “내부 역량강화(조직개편, 신나는 직장문화 조성), 단계간 실무, 최고회의 정례회, 정부, 국회, 언론, 유관기관 등 정계 브리핑 등 협력강화, UN,유네스코 등 국제기구와 협력”등을 하겠다.

여섯째, “소통•화합•혁신으로 하나 되는 국기원” 그리고 “구악과 구폐를 청산하고 다시 뛰는 국기원을 만들겠다.”는 포부를 밝혔다.
